subtlety amazing

I got a sample of in Jardin sur la Nil and fell in love, I bought the sampler of 4 of the Hermes Jardin scents, sure I would ultimately buy Sur la Nil but curious about the rest, and I ended up buying this one as well, and maybe even preferring it. There is something I just can’t put my finger on that I am crazy about in this!

Unusual, classy, beautiful

This is one of the finest perfumes around. Unisex, but not too masculine for a feminine person. Hard to describe: It's very evocative of sunny summer beach days. Crisp, green/herbal, clean, with a slight bitter floral note; fig is one of the base notes. A wonderful grownup cologne/perfume in contrast to the super-sweet and overpowering scents everywhere now. Wears very lightly and dissipates quickly but it's so wonderful, I don't care. :) I use it as a room spray occasionally in the summer.

Smells like grass and pond water on me. I don't smell figs at all. :(

My current obsession

I love, love, love this Un Jardin en Mediterrannee! I get so many comploments everywhere I go. I really love the transformation of this EDT. First it smell like little woody or smokey.. and then it turns gentle citrus aroma. I don't know if this is an uni-sex EDT, it's not overpowering at all. One thing I would say negative thing wouls be this is very expensive!!! But even so I still want to leave 5 stars :) As matter of fact, I will buy another one for me as a Christmas gift!!!

Formula changed

Been using this fragrance for more than 10 years. My signature fragrance. However, I will discontinue using it as such. The formula has been changed, the scent does not last anymore, and the lingering after smell is repulsive. Still a nice smell right after you spray, but not after. Disappointed.

This was my first real perfume and I still love it. The whole scent profile stays true all day. This is an atypical scent in that it is not floral or musky or citrusy.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

If I could give this 10 stars I would! I went into the store to look at the garden trial set. And i smelled all 4 fragrances. I immediately fell in love with this one it’s like a beachy earthy combination. like a cold night on the beach with a fire pit. I just absolutely love it! I know scents can vary on different people but you should definitely give this a shot! Also give it time to sit on your skin. At first I thought it would be too woodsy but Over a period of ten minutes it had evolved into yumminess! Please never discontinue!!! I know this will be my go to for years to come!

love this perfume

Unlike most people, I don’t smell figs at all. Instead it smelled kind of nutty to me, like pistachios. No one else has been able to pick it up, so for the longest time I thought I was going crazy and that my brain was making up or mistaking the scent. Until finally I scoured through the internet for a list of all its notes and found that pistachios is one of its base notes. So I guess I’m not crazy then and just have a nose for pistachios lol. Either way this fragrance smells really nice and fresh that has a very light woody base. Not a heavy scent. Lasts a decent amount of time for an EDT.

Lovely but doesn’t last

I love this scent, it’s fresh and reminds me of the sea and sunshine, but I don’t think it lasts. Tried to use it on clothes vs skin/hair to see if it would stick around longer but the answer is no unfortunately. I would love to try a perfume version of it!!!

Suprised ... but so in love

I purchased this scent in a "sampler pack" of the other Hermes "garden" scents while on the hunt for something new for the warmer weather fast approaching. I tend to skew more toward warmer/vanilla based scents which are great for winter but I wanted a little change. I thought I was going to fall in love with a different fragrance in the bunch when I read the scent notes on each of them but after wearing this one a couple of times I am completely in love and this will definitely be my new signature scent for summer. It has this delightful green/earthy start but fades into this warm peppery/citrus smell. It is definitely outdoorsy and fresh without feeling like you just rolled in grass cuttings - and it definitely evokes a sense of seaside pasture/orchard in the best way. It's not overpowering, and I agree with some of the reviewers that it doesn't have the "staying power" of some other fragrances that I wear, but I don't mind reapplying because I love it so much.

Good summertime fragrance

The blend of fig and flowers and a hint of lavender and sandalwood is really beautiful. This is a light fragrance though -- not much lasting power or sillage. Given the price, it isn't a great value.
