I have dry skin that can have flaky patches around my chin and nose if I’m not diligent in my routine. The Essence exfoliates and hydrates without causing any irritation or redness. I’m a full Bader routine girl and this is a fundamental step.

Thirst Quenching

The Essence is thirst quenching to my skin after cleansing. I have been in a hurry once in awhile, skipping the Essence, then using the retinol, and then the Rich Moisturizer. I was noticeably drier with some fine lines showing. The Essence moisture gives my skin an extra drink of moisture with the TFC8, and it is noticeable.

My go to exfoliant.

Noticeably smoother texture after at least a x4 per week use every morning. Very gentle never irritating yet very effective without causing any burning or obvious peeling. Just avoid using this on same application as the he retinol serum or any retinoic product.

I think it’s a very good product. On lazy Sunday mornings I just use this before I apply my serum and moisturizer. It’s all I need.

I recently purchased Augustinus Bader The Essence with high hopes, given the brand's reputation for skincare products. However, my experience with this toner has been nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. Firstly, I must warn fellow consumers with sensitive skin to steer clear of this product. After just a few uses, my face turned extremely red.. The toner's harsh formula seemed to exacerbate my skin's sensitivity rather than calming and balancing it, as one would expect from a high-end toner. There are plenty of other toners on the market that offer better results and are more suitable for sensitive skin types.

Not for me

The Essence has a thick texture for an essence feels almost oily and leaves a residue on skin. I have very sensitive skin and have tried using this multiple times as it’s so expensive the last few only on my oily t zone as it was too harsh for my drier cheeks. Every time I use it, I get pimples and my pores look more obvious and the skin around them is slightly red. As this is the only new product I have introduced and it happens after every use it’s definitely due to this essence. I was only using it once a week. I’m not sure if it’s the ingredients or the formulation but I wouldn’t recommend it for sensitive skin or if you dislike a residue. There are much better gentle essences and toners that can be used on sensitive skin

Prepare to hear that comment about your skin when you use this skincare. I use cleansing balm or cream cleansing gel, the essence, and rich cream. I receive compliments on my skin anytime I go out. The Essence and other products combine to calm, add glow, and change your skin.

Wonderful start

The best essence I’ve ever used. Goes on so smoothly and is immediately sunk into the skin. Leaves it feeling wonderful.

Lightweight, hydrating

I use the Essence immediately after cleansing. It is lightweight, absorbs instantly, hydrates, brightens my skin before I apply the Rich Cream (in colder months) or the Cream (warmer months)
