I am 33 and am extremely fair-skinned. I have splotchy, red undertones and fine line wrinkles that bother me. I finally decided it was time I actually started and stuck to a skincare routine but I didn’t want to go crazy. I started using a store-bought cream face wash with Vitamin C (nothing with salicylic acid or anything drying/harsh) a few years ago. It kept my skin clean but didn’t really do anything else. I finally decided to start using Retinol and purchased The Ordinary’s 1% and the results are incredible. I started out using it only twice per week and worked my way up to about 5x per week now (I typically don’t use it during the weekends as I’m outside in the sun). So many people at work have commented on my skin/complexion and have asked me what I’m doing differently. My redness is hardly there at all anymore and my skin is so smooth now and the fine lines look like they’ve diminished. It’s been six months and I am ecstatic with the results. And it is so cost-friendly too. My routine literally involves my Vitamin C facewash, The Ordinary Retinol, and the HA moisturizer. Three steps only and it’s worked wonders for me thus far. This will forever be part of my routine now!

Would need a smaller package

I’ve been using this product for 3-4 years and I’m satisfied. I had started to use retinol long before so I didn’t see any wow effect. Anyway, I’m happy with the product and the price and I will keep buying it. The only question: since after the bottle is opened it lasts only for 3 months isn’t it convenient to do a smaller package? It’s really sad that I have to flush the half of the bottle to the toilet every 3 months.

This product was complimentary from Skeepers in exchange for my honest review, so let’s talk about The Ordinary 1% Retinol in Squalane. My skin looks smoother, brighter, and more even. It helps with fine lines, acne scars, and texture, but I did experience some dryness and purging at first—totally normal with retinol. For the price, this is an amazing retinol! Just be sure to start slow, keep your skin hydrated, and never skip sunscreen. Have you tried this one yet? Let me know in the comments.

LOVE this product! I have used Retinol for years. I usually had my doctor give an rx for Retinol. I decided to give this a try and love it. Works just as well as the rx. It is easy to use and like the ease of use with other products.

Must have for maturer skins

I’ve been using this product for the last 2 years and have definitely seen an improvement in my skin tone. In fairness, this is probably due to a combination of factors but the Retinol has definitely played a major role. I use it 2-3 times a week (at night time). It feels luxuriant on application, I love the texture. My 58 year old skin now looks clearer than ever before, I’m sure my fine lines are less visible and I’ve ditched my foundation completely in favour of tinted moisturiser - preferably with SPF50 of course!
