Game Changer

Bought the full size after using a large sample size. This is a game changer for my oily scalp and long very fine hair. It does not strip my hair (or hair color) but gets rid of the oil and dry shampoo buildup and leaves my hair looking and feeling fantastic. I can go way longer between washes. I also use it on my daughter’s hair as well. It’s pricey but we only use it once a week and it takes such a small amount to get the job done so it will last a long time. I can’t be without it.

Cleansed!

I have curly hair and put a lot of creams in my hair, so it makes my hair oily faster and causes a lot of build up. This scalp scrub doubles as a clarifying shampoo and REALLY clarifies. It exfoliates the scalp with both sea salt AND lactic acid so you have a fresh new start. Because of this, however, it did dry out my hair considerably, but this was easily remedied with a hydrating conditioner! I use the Pattern conditioner for medium curlies with this. Sometimes, I'll even do a hair mask afterwards to further counteract the dryness and add some bounce to my curls. I highly recommend if you have a super oily scalp. I only use this once every 2 weeks to once a month, so it'll last me a long time. You do NOT need a lot for your whole scalp. Just scoop out equal to or less than a tablespoon, spread it all over your fingers and palms. Then, gently work the scrub all over your scalp. It will lather into a rich and creamy foam if you lather enough. Then rinse! Your hair might feel dry afterwards so yeah.. condition condition condition!!

A Wonderful Product for Oily hair

This scrub is amazing! I have curly hair with an oily scalp and dry ends, and this is amazing. It has helped me extend the wear time of my hair an extra day or so. I got covid over a year ago, and many things don't smell good/I can't smell the complexity of some products, but this smells wonderful to me. That is an extreme plus. It just has a minty/eucalyptus smell to me, and it lasts on my hair for a while. This also gets my hair extremely clean. I use this with a shampoo scrubber brush, and it works amazingly. There are ver big sea salt crystals in here, but they dissolve as you scrub, so it isn't as abrasive as it may seem. I use this once a week to take away oil and product build up.

A must have

I use this once every other week to really clean away scalp buildup--hair products, sweat from gym, etc.--anytime I start to feel "itchy" I know this will help. I'm careful to condition my hair ends after.

so clean

if you get this in your mouth itll be salty lol this really cleanses my hair after a good workout or sweaty and greasy day or if i have gel and product in my roots. when rinsing out it will feel like your hair is stripped but thats the point of a scalp cleanse. the hair feels super clean after and i use this 2 times a week and i feel super refreshed after. i think this will last a lifetime because it suds well and you dont need too much of it

Gives you that squeaky clean feel! Love to use to get all the gunk out of my hair. I use about twice a month and it’s really satisfying. High recommend to everyone!

Salt doesn't actually get to the scalp

It could be user error, but I bought this product to not only clarify every few weeks but I was under the impression I could scrub my scalp WITH the scalp crystals but they are so big I can't get them anywhere near my scalp. It ends up being a good clarifying shampoo but I bought it as a scrub. There are cheaper shampoos that are easier to use so I wouldn't purchase again. I have fine, straight, highlighter hair.

Great for greasy hair

Great scalp scrub that leaves hair super clean and soft.

So so

Definitely made my hair squeaky clean after first use, noticeably less oily even after day 2. However, didn’t really help with scaliness. It smells good. It’s tiny for the price but bottle lasts long since I don’t use every day.

Worth it for me

I have fine hair but a lot of it and I have a pretty oily scalp that regular shampoos (even most detox shampoos, looking at you Ouai!) don't do much for. I like that it has a mild scent (I have an allergy to strong fragrance). I use it twice a week. As others mentioned, it takes a bit to figure out what works (little product, add water as you lather), but once I did, there is no going back to any other clarifying shampoo.

I dye my hair and for the past couple of years I've gone blue. That's great, lots of compliments, the husband loves it. BUT, blue stains and it stains my scalp...and then bleeds off onto sheets, towels, etc. I was skeptical at first, because this is recommended for use right after you've dyed your hair, but I'm a believer. First off, it makes my scalp feel great. Secondly, it does not strip the dye color, which is a HUGE thing. And thirdly it removes the dye that's on my scalp, so I'm not leaking blue everywhere. I know not everyone has great experiences with CR products, but I usually do and this is no exception. You also probably don't need as much as they recommend per wash.
